Reading is the foundation for excellent writing.
Something that I heavily emphasize in my methodology is reading a lot of different types of literature. Avid readers encounter so many new and complex terms that they are able to incorporate into their everyday speech and writing. Some students have fallen out of love with reading. My goal is to share fun and interesting reading material so that we can delve into reading comprehension and use this literature as a basis for our writing topics.
